Our Volunteer Drivers:
- Provide rides using their own vehicles
- Choose the times, days, and areas they wish to drive
- Receive reimbursement for mileage and parking costs
- Receive supplemental liability insurance at no cost
- Do no heavy lifting or bearing of weight
Our volunteers are retirees, working individuals, stay-at-home parents, snowbirds, etc… Their dedication and compassion are the core of our program. If you have a valid driver’s license and can volunteer as little as 2 – 4 hours once a month then you can be a blessing to those in need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Any adult, 21 years or older, with a good driving record and a standard driver’s license. You need to have your own car that is in good working condition and pass a standard background check.
You can volunteer as many times as you like over as long a period as you like.
RMFTB is all about helping people in a manner that is prompt, courteous, and reliable. Safe driving and customer service skills are important to making each trip a success.
All volunteer drivers must complete an initial orientation training session provided by RMFTB staff.
All volunteers will be covered by supplemental liability insurance.
We value each of our volunteers for helping others in their community. We will hold regular volunteer recognition events, and we will also reimburse drivers for miles driven from contributions received, at the volunteer rate.
